With the second part of the exclusives from the Watergate 17 CD mixed by Pan-Pot, we see three artists that have close ties to the duo and all reside in the Riverside Studios complex just steps from the club's front door.
First up is Martin Eyerer. A name already well known in the world of dance music, he delivers a stormer with 'Reckless'. Driving drums and a building snare roll keep the energy at a maximum while a descending bass tone creates a passionate attachment for the dance floor. It's the perfect unity of danceability and emotion rolled into one cohesive theme.
Next up is one of the core artists of Pan-Pot's new imprint Second State, Stephan Hinz. With 'Hungry' he hosts a clinic on how to maintain the intricate balance between the realms of techno and house with big rolling drums and vintage keys. We've heard the keys countless times before, but it
takes someone with a level of skill far beyond the average producer to make it feel like it's the first time all over again. A perfect composition, this is the track that can make the crowd go over the edge and save the dance floor. Or, both at the same time.
Finally, to round up the EP, we have another member of the Second State family, Clint Stewart. 'Drenched' is a track that can be utilized under the club lights or beneath the sun and stars. The lo-fi drums chug along while a lead reminiscent of the sounds of old Chicago take over and slowly a bass line that mirrors the lead becomes apparent. As the break nears, a spacey synth circles around and around to forge all the elements into a solid, unified composition.
